Your day-by-day itinerary

DAY 01

Arrive Varanasi — Old City & Ganga Aarti

After arrival, settle into your hotel before a private guided introduction to old Varanasi. Walk through selected market lanes towards the river, allowing time for explanation rather than simply moving between points. End the evening at the Ganga Aarti from a comfortable viewing position, with the remainder of the night free after what may have been a long journey into the city.

Sightseeing: Northern Bazaar, old-city lanes, Dashashwamedh Ghat and evening Ganga Aarti

Overnight: Varanasi

DAY 02

Sunrise Varanasi & Sarnath

Start before sunrise with a private boat on the Ganges, followed by a short ghat walk and breakfast at the hotel. Continue later with selected sacred and cultural Varanasi before travelling to Sarnath. The day covers the essential contrast between living Hindu Varanasi and the nearby Buddhist site where the Buddha delivered his first sermon.

Sightseeing: Private sunrise boat, selected sacred Varanasi, Dhamek Stupa, Chaukhandi Stupa and Mulagandha Kuti Vihara

DAY 03

Varanasi → Prayagraj

After breakfast, drive privately to Prayagraj and visit the Triveni Sangam by local boat when operating. Continue to selected city sights according to opening times and your preferred pace, with enough flexibility for traffic and local access. The night in Prayagraj avoids turning the city into a hurried roadside stop before the next day’s excursion.

Sightseeing: Triveni Sangam, Bade Hanuman Ji, Anand Bhavan, Alopi Devi and/or Khusro Bagh

DAY 04

Chitrakoot Excursion

Leave Prayagraj for a private day excursion to Chitrakoot, a destination closely associated with the Ramayana. Spend time around Ram Ghat and the Mandakini riverfront before visiting a selected group of sacred sites, chosen according to road time, crowd levels and walking preference. Return to Prayagraj in the evening rather than trying to include every pilgrimage point in a single day.

Sightseeing: Ram Ghat, Mandakini riverfront and selected Chitrakoot sacred sites such as Kamadgiri or Sati Anusuya where practical

DAY 05

Prayagraj → Ayodhya

Travel privately to Ayodhya after breakfast and check into your hotel. Begin with the riverfront side of the city if arrival time permits, using local e-rickshaws where private vehicles cannot enter. Ram Ki Paidi and the Saryu Aarti offer a gentler first introduction before the main temple programme, which is better handled earlier the following day.

Sightseeing: Nageshwarnath Temple, Ram Ki Paidi, Saryu riverfront and evening Saryu Aarti when timing permits

Overnight: Ayodhya

DAY 06

Chhapaiya Excursion

After breakfast, travel to Chhapaiya for a private excursion shaped around the traveller’s religious interest. Visit the principal places associated with the birthplace and early life of Swaminarayan, allowing adequate time at the temple complex rather than treating the journey as a quick photo stop. Return to Ayodhya later in the day for a relaxed evening.

Sightseeing: Swaminarayan birthplace and principal sacred sites in Chhapaiya, with local sequence confirmed close to travel

Overnight: Ayodhya

DAY 07

Ayodhya & Departure

Use the final morning for the principal sacred sites of Ayodhya, beginning early enough to manage the walking, security and local transport around the temple precinct. Your guide will coordinate the sequence around current conditions before returning to the hotel or continuing directly to your onward transfer. The programme can be shortened if your departure is earlier.

Sightseeing: Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan and Dashrath Mahal, subject to onward timing
